More About YOUTH TRUST
In 1979 the Western Cape Education Department identified a need for outdoor education as a way of enhancing the primary school curriculum. The result was a registered school, the Western Cape Youth Trust, established with the sole purpose of developing and presenting programmes that provide learners with the opportunity of experiencing interactive learning in nature. These now well established programmes incorporate almost all learning areas in an integrated format. Changing needs and curriculums necessitate regular programme reassessment and renewal.
SACE registered Youth Trust teachers present approximately 70 programmes with 6 000 participating learners annually.
Before arrival, visiting schools decide which programmes and medium of instruction are best suited for their specific needs.
